port 12345 and Netbus 1 Year, 4 Months ago Karma: 0
I was wondering why my app was not connecting anymore to Merapi on Vista.

I found out that I've got a trojan (a well-known one): NetBus
http://www.windowsecurity.com/articles/The_Netbus_trojan.html

This trojan is using the port 12345 (the Merapi one) so I would need to change the port (as I can't monitor a connect error either...).

Guys, it would be great to have some info about source code or future release. I think I'm not the only one waiting!

Edit: It would be nice to have an option that is trying another port in case one is failing (up to a number of ports defined by the developer).

Thanks

Romu

My bad, I haven't affected by anything, I clear that out with a netstat -ano.

It wasn't working because the line 127.0.0.1 localhost disappear from my hosts file. All good now.

Shoudn't the Merapi host be 127.0.0.1 instead of localhost? Not that it should be a big problem...

Anyway, it would be nice to have an "auto-try-5-ports" functionnality, or be able to handle the IOError and be able to set the port.
